Health before The Economy? The Economy before Health? Both at the same time?
The relationship between Health and The Economy
Health before The Economy? The Economy before Health? Both at the same time?
In short, I’m not going to demonise anyone or indulge in demagoguery. You need money to buy food, you need food for good health. So, if you are healthy, you can earn money and you can buy food… but which one do you put first? What do you go without? Logically, you have to fight both sides of the battle, but you also have to prioritise. We all agree that you can go several days without eating and can get by with only mild health problems. However, in the end, both go together and depend on each other. It really isn’t recommended to only prioritise one or the other.
I would like to describe some economic topics, pertinent to the industry in which I work:
- –The Strategic Plan of Farmaindustria 2020 shows us the value of R&D&I in the Healthcare and Medical sector.
- – Investment, employment created in terms of both quantity and quality, reinvested earnings, the cost-benefit of saving lives and reducing morbidity and an increase in quality of life, all of which require the talent, economic resources and the good health of companies and workers.
- –The benefits coming from an adequate and rational use of drugs, advertising campaigns and finally all the measures taken to reduce the ecological impact of waste, require money and economic resources as well as health.
- –All of the above have a strong impact on the health status of the population and as is the case for other feedback mechanisms, the economic stability of individuals and organisations.
If we agree that Health and The Economy is a pairing of growth, Azierta as a firm is focused on investing in Human and Economic resources to develop talent and business, therefore establishing a dynamic which permits success. I consider our efforts to build a good organisation and offer a high quality of employment a priority so as to offer our clients a strong support structure in Regulatory Affairs, Quality and GXP, Safety and R&D&I processes which assist in the scientific, manufacturing and science-to-business cycles not only of medicinal products but also medical devices, cosmetics, biocides and biotechnology among others. Finally, in order to support the health of our ecosystem, we want to attract companies to land, grow within and depart from Europe, contributing to the generation of a robust and healthy economy.
